The Wey Valley Disabled Anglers Association was formed in 1985 and became a registered
charity in March 1986. The association, founded by disabled anglers for both disabled
and able-bodied helper anglers, provides fishing and fishing competitions for our
disabled and able-bodied members alike and promotes Disabled Angling wherever possible.
We have several lady members who regularly attend our matches and a junior section
which we would like to expand now that our Honary Secretary is a qualified Level
2 NFA coach We are also committed to promoting interest, providing assistance and
acting in an advisory capacity to all disabled anglers and to other clubs and associations
in the provision of facilities for disabled angling in general.
We have currently around 50 members, including our able-bodied helper members, without
whom the association would not function, and consider ourselves a homely and very
friendly angling club. Naturally, as a charity we are constantly seeking sponsorship
or donations and are always engaged in fund raising activities to help maintain
the day to day running of our association and to add to our Lake Project Fund.
